Latch Evaluation

Having a latch evaluation is a useful to tool to assist in targeting  issues and assess both maternal and infant variables and defines areas that need intervention.

Our IBCLCs can evaluate your baby's latch by by observing a breastfedding session.

Tongue/Lip Tie Evaluation

Tongue Tie - a malformation which restricts the movement of the tongue and causes a speech impediment.

Lip Tie - an extra short or tight labial frenulum – that's the triangle-shaped piece of connective tissue that attaches your baby's upper lip to their gum.

Having an evaluation can let you know if you baby has a tongue and/or lip tie, as well as if they may need a revision procedure in order to improve breastfeeding.

Weighted Feeds

Our IBCLCs use a high-precision baby scale in order to weigh your baby before and after a feeding session in order to determine exactly how much your baby is transferring from the breast based on their weight gain. This tool is especially helpful for mother's concerned with low supply. It can be helpful to reassure mother's that their baby is getting enough or can help us identify the problem to aid in finding a solution!
