FAQs

What is the risk criteria?

What we refer to as our "hard stops" include, VBAC/those with previous Cesarean delivery, twins or multiples, and malposition such as

breech, or transverse.

There are other pregnancy related conditions such as severe pre-eclampsia, or gestational diabetes that may also impact eligibility for an out of hospital delivery but these are reviewed on a case by case basis.

Do I need to see an ob also?

Our midwife is fully licensed to provide sole prenatal care, delivery and postpartum care. However, some people do choose to use co-care services with an OB based on personal preference or due to pregnancy related conditions. Overall, it is not necessary but it just a personal choice! If you are looking for a like minded OB, we may have some recommendations for you!
